Samuel William Christopher Watson, better known by his stage name Krizz Kaliko, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and voice actor who fearlessly crosses the boundaries of hip-hop, country, rock, funk and even opera music. A jack-of-all-trades, Krizz Kaliko has become a vital member of Tech N9ne’s Strange Music label family, and has his own diverse musical style called “funkra.”
He has penned numerous hit songs for Tech N9ne, including the classic anthems “Had to Kill ‘Em” and “Talk Up on It.” He has performed with Tech N9ne at over 220 concerts per year, and is an explosive live entertainer that emulates the grandiose entrances of World Wrestling stars.
Krizz Kaliko was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. As a child, he was severely bullied for his vitiligo (a condition that causes a loss of pigment and leaves splotches of white skin) and his weight. He credits his family, in particular his mother who is a gospel singer under the name Barbara Word, with keeping him grounded and positive through his darkest periods.
